4 Common problems of translation
1. Problems with grammar
One of the problems of translation is related to grammar. Most translators have to deal with grammatical problems. They are including aspectuality, pronouns and questions of temporality. Aspectuality is the appearance which is indicating how the states are expressed and how the process is represented by the verb from the developments’ point of view, as against to time itself). The other problem is related to make the subject explicitly whether in pronoun or not.
2. Problems with lexical-semantic
There are many ways to solve lexical-semantic problems. They are including experts, terminology banks and glossaries and consulting dictionaries. When a translator faces this kind of problems, they also deal with neologisms, terminology alternatives, antonym, contextual synonyms and semantic gaps. These problems may affect the polysemy units. Polysemy units are including:· Semantic contiguity which is a consistency procedure that can be worked by analyzing two or more common semantic features.
· Antonyms and synonyms which are not only reached at the acceptance that is depending on the text or context to analyze which one is the correct meaning.
· Lexical networks.
3. Problems with rhetorical
This kind of problem is related to diction and the recreation and identification of figures and thought. The problems are including metaphor, comparison, synecdoche, metonymy, paradox, oxymoron and other.
4. Problems with syntactical
The last of one the common problems of translation is syntactical problems. They are also related to the direction of the passive voice, syntactic parallels, the focus (the organized story which has the point of view) and rhetorical figures of speech. They are several points that are including in rhetorical figures of speech:· An anaphora which is a repetition of a segment or word at the beginning of a phrase or a line.
· A hyperbaton which is the inversion of the natural form of speech.
